KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A Kalamazoo man will serve over three years in prison for being a felon in possession of a handgun.
Darien Vaughn-White, 25, was sentenced Friday to serve 37 months in federal prison and to three years of supervised release.
Federal authorities say Kalamazoo police told in July 2018 Vaughn-White they were aware of his gun-related criminal activity and warned him it could result in federal prosecution. In September 2019, Kalamazoo police saw him in a fight and stopped him after he left the scene.
Authorities said they found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine in his possession, leading to him being charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun.
