KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo police say there has been an uptick in the number of stolen vehicles over the last few weeks.

Most of the vehicles were taken while they were left running and unlocked to warm up in the owner’s driveway.

Police say people can protect their vehicle by never leaving it running while unattended, locking the doors, leaving the windows up, keeping valuables tucked away and parking in secure, well-lit areas.

Anyone with information on a stolen vehicle is asked to call Kalamazoo police at 269-488-8911.
