KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo County Parks reopen Wednesday for walking, bicycling, hiking, running, walking the dog, boating, and fishing. But there are a number of usable facilities is still limited.

The parks department noted that everyone using the parks must observe social distancing and use a different park if one park’s parking lot is full.

Some facilities will remain closed: Playgrounds, campgrounds, dog parks, disc golf course, the radio controlled flying field, picnic shelters and picnic tables.

Parks staff will evaluate the public response. The department warned in a release that future closings are possible if people fail to observe social distancing outside immediate family.

“We need all visitors to do their part so that the County Parks and facilities can remain open,” said Parks Director David Rachowicz.
