KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A party store employee was injured after a driver lost control and crashed into the building Wednesday.
It happened around 1 p.m. at Howard's Party Store, 1366 Portage Street in Kalamazoo, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
Police say the impact hit the northeast corner of the building and pushed a shelf full of alcohol four feet into the building where an employee was standing.
The employee was struck and received head and neck injuries and was hospitalized in unknown condition. Police say the driver of the car was not hurt.
The crash caused significant damage to the building forcing police to close the building until it can be repaired.
