Children struck by gunfire during 'rolling gun battle' in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Two children were struck by gunfire during what police say was a "rolling gun battle" between two cars in Kalamazoo.

It happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday outside a home near the intersection of Douglas and Ogden where two kids were playing on the sidewalk, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

The gunfire between two drivers ended up striking two children, a five-year-old and a twelve-year-old.

One of the children was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive. The other child was treated for their injuries at the scene.
