SPRINGFIELD, Mich. — A student is behind bars after deputies say he was found to have a handgun in his car which was parked in the school parking lot.

It happened Monday at Calhoun Community High School, 765 Upton Avenue in Springfield.

Information was obtained that a 19-year-old student had a handgun in his car.

When deputies searched the car, they found a loaded handgun. The student was arrested and taken to jail.
