One left injured in hit-and-run accident involving motorcycle

Update 5/24/20: Deputies received a tip around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night that led them to a 24-year-old Battle Creek woman, along with her 2008 Nissan Sentra, who confessed to the incident. She has charged being sought against her for leaving the scene of the accident.

One motorcyclist was injured after being rear-ended by a car, who fled the scene immediately after.

Around 1 p.m. on Saturday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department Springfield detachment was dispatched to investigate a hit and run motorcycle accident at the intersection of Michigan Avenue and VanBuren St.

A 66-year-old Albion man was operating his 2015 Harley Davidson heading westbound on Michigan Ave. when he slowed down for a stop and was rear ended by a black sedan. The sedan stopped for about a minute and then fled the scene

Suspect vehicle stopped for approx. one minute, then fled the scene.

The bike operator sustained multiple non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
