BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek says they're re-starting their bulk curbside waste collection Monday after a hiatus due to COVID-19.
The city says people living within the city limits can place their bulk waste on the curb the same day as their normal trash pickup.
They describe bulk waste as furniture, mattresses, appliances, rolled carpet in four-foot lengths, and similar items.
As for yard waste pickup, the city says waste management is running a day behind but they think this will pick up starting next week.
They ask that you put your leaves, downed branches and other yard waste in specially marked containers, paper yard waste bags, or tied into four-foot bundles. They say these bags should weigh 50 pounds or less and if you leave these on the curb this week they will get to them.
Waste management says they paused bulk pickup and postponed yard waste pickup to reduce the number of on-the-road staff.
