CALHOUN COUNTY, Mich. — An Eaton Rapids man is dead after being ejected as multiple pickup trucks crashed on northbound I-69.

At approximately 12:06 a.m. on May 24, Calhoun County officers were dispatched to a rollover accident near the 39 mile marker of the interstate.

According to investigation, one truck driven by a 64-year-old Eaton Rapids man was towing another pickup truck driven by a 23-year-old man, also from Eaton Rapids.

A 39-year-old Bellevue woman, driving a truck pulling an empty horse trailer, then rear-ended the towed pickup truck.

Both the towing and towed vehicles overturned and a 66-year-old Eaton Rapids man was thrown out as each truck rolled

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other passengers were hospitalized, two are in serious condition, the third is in stable condition.

The driver of the truck pulling the trailer and the three children in the truck were not injured.

Alcohol doesn't seem to be a factor; the crash still remains under investigation by Calhoun County Sheriff's Office.
