2 suspects arrested after 6-hour police standoff in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Two Kalamazoo residents are in custody after an assault that led to an hours long standoff around 5:32 p.m. on Saturday.

Both Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers and Metro SWAT Team were called to a house on March St. for a report of a man threatening a victim with a firearm.

The suspect barricaded himself in the house and refused to come out for the next 6 hours, after which he surrendered to police.

That first suspect, a 32-year-old man, was arrested on weapon charges.

Meanwhile, a 34-year-old suspect was also arrested for different charges.

No one was injured in the incident and the Criminal Investigation Division is still investigating what happened.
