KENTWOOD, Mich. — Emergency workers rushed a man to the hospital after a Chevy SUV crashed into a tree in Kentwood.
The incident happened near Wallnut Hills Dr. SE and Hidden Lakes Dr. SE at around 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
Authorities told FOX 17 crews at the scene that the male driver was trapped inside and that he suffered severe injuries, specifically to his arm. He was stuck so tightly inside that they had to use the "jaws of life" to get him out.
Officials said that he was the only person inside the vehicle at the time. While they did not say his name they did confirm that he is in his thirties.
Traffic investigators are working to figure out what exactly led up to the crash.
