GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The West Michigan Environmental Action Council is hosting the 17th annual Mayors' Grand River cleanup starting Saturday.

While it is usually a one day event, it will now be a week-long campaign to work with Covid-19 safety guidelines.

Volunteers are invited to help clean streets, storm drains, and streams, all in an effort to keep our rivers healthy.

Free disposable gloves and bags will be given out to all registered volunteers.

They will be asked to use the 'Clean Swell' app to keep track of their progress, then forward their results to mayorscleanup@wmeac.org or share on social media with #mayorscleanup2020.

It kicks off Saturday and runs through September 19th.
