WYOMING, Mich. — Wyoming Public Safety is now offering a cash reward of $5000 to encourage community members who might have information regarding a double homicide from earlier this month.

Detectives from Wyoming Public Safety continue to investigate the double homicide of Santos Padilla Banegas and Elmer Geovany Lopez Toi.

The incidents occurred on Sept. 16 in the area of S. Division Avenue and Wilbur St. SE.

During the investigation, detectives discovered a video that does not appear to be directly relevant to the investigation, but hope that seeing the video will motivate community members to come forward with more information.

In the video from late August, Lopez Toi encounters two men he’d never met.

The men, who have since been contacted by detectives and agreed to the release of this video, were experiencing homelessness and in need when interacting with Lopez Toi.

Through investigation, detectives have found that neither Padilla Banegas nor Lopez Toi were involved in criminal acts that could have provided a motive to any suspects.

If you have information regarding the situation, you are advised to call the Wyoming Police Department at (616) 530-7300 or Silent Observer at (616)774-2345.
