PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Firefighters battled a mobile home fire in the cold Monday.

The fire broke out within the Hilltop Mobile Home Community near Meijer in Plainfield Township.

Crews attacked the fire while conducting search-and-rescue efforts for one person who was unaccounted for.

We're told the missing person was found inside a vehicle outside the structure. They were taken to the hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.

The chief of the Plainfield Township Fire Department told FOX 17 they faced several complications.

"The weather's cold, very narrow streets, so we did have to park a long ways from the scene," says Fire Chief Steve McKellar. "It looks like it could be a possible hoarder situation, so ... we do have a lot of debris inside."

The mobile home was destroyed in the fire, and a neighboring home sustained minor exterior damage.

What caused the fire is still being investigated.
