GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — While students can't job shadow in person right now, they can do it virtually, and one local event is letting them do just that next month.

Krista Harmon is a Career Readiness Consultant with Kent Intermediate School District, and she joined FOX 17 live to tell us about their Virtual Groundhog Shadow Day.

The free event is happening on February 5th and will be split into three 60-minute sessions: 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.

While registration for the event is now closed, more than 1,500 high school students have signed up.

Kent Intermediate School District's Career Readiness division is working year-round to explore career paths for students in grades 7 through 12.

There is also a nationwide search underway for a new Kent I.S.D. Superintendent, and you can let them know what skills and attributes you are expecting from them in a short survey (which can also be found in Spanish).
