Five injured in multi-car crash in Gaines Township

GAINES TWP., Mich. — Sunday afternoon, the Dutton Fire Department (DFD) responded to a rear-end collision that left five people in need of medical attention.

Just after 1:00 today, DFD was dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in the 10400 Block of Patterson Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found multiple people with various degrees of injuries.

EMS was called to the scene to manage the patient load.

In all, five patients were tended to. The extent of injuries and condition of all involved is not known at this time.

Patterson Avenue at 108th and 100th was shut down to allow for a safe scene.

In a recent facebook post, DFD wanted to offer a genuine thank you to Caledonia Fire today for their assistance on this incident, as well as the Kent County Sheriff’s Office and Life EMS, and Berry’s and Gilliken’s Towing for "a quick clean up and timely restoration of normal traffic flow."
