GRATTAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A cyclist has died in a crash involving a truck
The incident occurred on April 5 at 3 p.m. in Grattan Township, on 5 Mile Rd. NE at Murray Lake Ave. NE, according to the Kent County Sheriff's Office.
The cyclist was only identified as a 37-year-old male from Lowell.
He was riding his bike westbound on 5 Mile Rd. NE, when he was struck from behind by a westbound full-size GMC truck pulling a dual-axle enclosed trailer, the sheriff's office said.
A 36-year-old male from Lowell was driving the truck.
The cyclist sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
The sheriff's office said the crash is under investigation. Alcohol and drugs have been ruled out as factors in the crash.
