BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Crews will start working to replace the 100th Street bridge on Monday.
The $8.6 million project will close through-traffic between S Kent Drive and Division Avenue. There will be detours on Clyde Park Avenue, 84th Street and Division Avenue.
Traffic on US-3131 will be able to get through with shifts and lane closures. However, there will be short-term closures for bridge demolition, beam setting and paving on the highway.
Drivers will have to exit and get back on the highway using the on- and off-ramps at the 100th Street exit.
The bridge became notorious for being hit in 2018, when it was struck more than a dozen times.
