GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Police are investigating a deadly crash near Caledonia.
It happened on Tuesday around 7 a.m. on 100th Street between East Paris and Patterson Avenue in Gaines Township.
According to the Kent County Sheriff's Office, the at fault driver failed to stop in heavy traffic. The collision triggered a rear end crash with a total of 4 vehicles.
The driver of the first vehicle struck died at the scene and the at fault driver was airlifted to the hospital.
The area of 100th Street between East Paris and Patterson is expected to reopen over the next few hours.
