CALEDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan State Police is investigating after four people were hurt in a multi-car crash.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 60th Street and Broadmoor Avenue.

Troopers say the crash happened when two jeeps hit head-on, causing one of them to leave the roadway.

One of the drivers, a 34-year-old man, got out of the car to check on his 6-month-old child and wife in the back seat when a third car ended up crashing into them.

The impact caused the man and his child, who was in a car seat, to be thrown onto the pavement.

The 34-year-old man suffered serious injuries but is in stable condition, as is his wife. The 6-month-old only suffered minor injuries.

The other driver involved in the initial head-on crash, a 55-year-old woman, also suffered serious injuries but was in stable condition, as well.

The driver of the third car was not hurt.

The northbound lanes of Broadmoor Ave. were closed for approximately four hours while troopers investigated.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is currently ongoing.
