GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Kent County has its fifth presumptive positive case of coronavirus.
The Kent County Health Department announced the case Monday night. Details on the patient who tested positive weren’t immediately available.
County health officials have now submitted 89 tests and received 26 negative results. Another 58 are still pending.
Michigan’s case total is at 54 as of 8:15 p.m. Monday. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has taken several actions to mitigate the spread of the illness, including banning all public gatherings of more than 50 people, ordering restaurants, gyms, movie theaters and others to temporarily shut down.
Businesses that serve food can still offer service through delivery, drive-throughs, and drive-up ordering. Up to five people can go inside to pick up food as long as they stay at least six feet apart from each other.
Resources through Kent County are available by calling 211. The state has also set up a hotline to ask health-related questions about coronavirus at 888-535-6136.
