ORANGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Heavy traffic due to an unrelated crash caused a multi-car accident that resulted in the death of a 29-year-old Grand Rapids resident.
It happened on I-96 east of M-66 just after 7 p.m. Saturday evening, according to the Michigan State Police's Lakeview Post.
Troopers believe that a 34-year-old Detroit resident was speeding and not paying attention when they hit several vehicles from behind.
The rear seat passenger of one of those cars, identified as Kevin Nicholas Coulter, was killed in the crash.
The MSP is still investigating the crash.
