Update: This man has been found and is safe.
The Grandville Police Department started searching for missing man Anthony John Akkerman today.
Friday afternoon, Grandville Police was dispatched to the 3700 Block of Iris Dr. SW reference a missing person report.
At this time, they are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Anthony John Akkerman, a 22-year-old man with the cognitive abilities of a 10-year-old.
Akkerman was last seen wearing a red shirt, black shorts, and camouflage shoes.
He was last seen in the area of N. Big Spring Dr. and Wilson Ave. in the city of Grandville.
This is an active on-going investigation, as the department works to gain additional information.
