GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The annual WinterWest event will return to Richmond Park next month.

The event will be held on January 4th, 2020 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and will be free and open to the public.

The day will feature fun and creative cardboard sled races, snowshoeing, crafts, and hot chocolate.

Registration for homemade cardboard sleds ends at 10:30 a.m. and prizes will be awarded for the best designed, most creative, fastest, and more.

“We want this annual event to positively impact the winter experience for families in our local neighborhoods to encourage them to get outside all year long.”, said Stephanie Adams, Executive Director of Friends of Grand Rapids Parks in a press release.

WinterWest is organized every year by Friends of Grand Rapids Parks in collaboration with both the Grand Rapids’ Parks and Recreation Department as well as the West Grand Neighborhood Organization.
