GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police identified the victim of Wednesday's fatal shooting as Matell Deon-Daajon Phillips, 23, of Grand Rapids.
The suspect, 23 year-old Travis Hoblet-Arnold, is in custody charged with open murder.
Phillips was killednear Wealthy Street and Diamond Avenue. GRPD told FOX 17 a vigil was held last night for the victim and a violent night erupted near the scene.
