GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A toddler has been injured after armed men ran a red light and caused an accident, which they then fled.
Around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, officers were monitoring crowds when they saw a vehicle run a red light and crash in the Franklin Street and Eastern Avenue intersection, near Grand Rapids Urban League.
Two male occupants, one of which carried a pistol, got out of the vehicle and ran from the scene.
Officers pursued until they lost sight, then called in a K9 unit to help track the suspects; they only recovered the firearm.
Meanwhile, other authorities attended to the crash, finding a toddler who suffered only minor injuries; it's still unclear which vehicle the toddler was a passenger in.
