GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Rapid will not accept 10-ride paper tickets after Feb. 28.

The public transportation company says its paper tickets are being phased out in favor of transitioning to its electronic fare system, the Wave card.

We’re told The Rapid will still accept cash.

They say riders can exchange their unredeemed 10-ride tickets at Rapid Central Station between Feb. 22 and March 5. We’re told the Information Center is open between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Rapid says riders can trade their tickets for the same value on their Wave card, or they may receive a new Wave card with the remaining value loaded onto it.

“We’re excited to continue our Wave card transition to make riding The Rapid as simple as possible,” says Spokesperson Bill Kirk. “We encourage all riders and stakeholders to provide us with their feedback and questions to help ensure that we get this change right.”
