Teen killed in 3-car crash, drivers still sought by police

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 17 year-old young woman was killed in a 3-car crash and police are looking for the drivers who ran from the scene Thursday afternoon.

Calls to 911 started coming in just after 3 p.m. for a crash at the corner of Watkins Street SE and Dallas Avenue SE. When GRPD arrived, they found the driver from the vehicle where police found the teen had run away, and another driver involved drove away.

The young woman was taken to the hospital, but died of her injuries.

The the second vehicle was found abandoned nearby and one other person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The people in the third vehicle stayed and cooperated with police.
