Murder warrant issued in 2016 cold case

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office has issued a four-count felony warrant, including open murder, in a 2016 cold case homicide.

The warrants were issued against Omar Dontay Wilson, 26, of Grand Rapids, who is in custody elsewhere on unrelated charges. He will be arraigned after he has been brought to Grand Rapids to face the open murder charge plus three firearms charges.

The case is the homicide of Mark Toliver, 27, who was found shot dead in the 200 block of Dickinson Street SE in May 2016. A suspect was seen running from the scene, but a K9 unit was unable to track down the suspect.
