GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Madcap Coffee Company has closed its location at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market.

Madcap made the announcement today in a Facebook post.

"As a result of the pandemic and many other external factors, it is with great sadness that we've permanently shut our doors at our Downtown Market location," the post says.

"We are so incredibly thankful for the many relationships we developed over the last three years, with our team, customers and other market tenants.

"We’ve learned a lot about service and experience in our time there and have worked hard to apply these lessons to other parts of our business. We are sad to say goodbye to a space we cared so deeply for but are excited for what future may hold."

The post is signed by Trevor Corlett, Madcap's founder and CEO, according to LinkedIn.

Madcap, founded in 2008, also has locations in downtown Grand Rapids, on Fulton Street East in Grand Rapids and Detroit, according to its website.

The Fulton Street location houses its roastery.

Aside from cafes, the company operates an online shop and sells to wholesale customers.
