GRAND RAPIDS — Three people were hit by gunfire in separate incidents that played out hours apart on the city's southeast and southwest sides.
Around 6 p.m. Thursday, Grand Rapids Police were called to a hospital downtown after a man was dropped off at ER with a gunshot wound to the left side of his torso.
The victim told police he had been walking along Wealthy Street near Hollister Avenue when three shots believed to have been fired by a passing vehicle rang out.
Authorities say the man is in critical, but stable condition.
Less than eight hours later, around 1:30 a.m. Friday, police say another man was dropped off at the hospital following an alleged shooting on Thomas Street SE.
Police say he had a gunshot wound to the leg and is also in stable condition.
Finally, at 2 a.m. Friday, officers met with an apparent shooting victim at a home on Cromwell Avenue SE, who told them he had been driving in the area of Hall Street SW and Buchanan Avenue SW when he heard about 10 gunshots go off.
He said he realized he had been hit when he noticed blood on his arms, according to police. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No suspect or vehicle descriptions were given in reference to any of the shootings.
