GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man suffered serious injuries after being shot on Grand Rapids' Southeast side.
A spokesperson from the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) confirmed that the incident occurred in the 800 block of Oakhill Street SE.
Just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, callers reported hearing shots fired. One of the callers looked outside to see a man lying on the ground in front of a nearby house.
When officers arrived, they found the 48-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was awake and informed the officers that a man riding a moped drove up and started shooting.
The victim was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with life-threatening injuries, meanwhile GRPD is still investigating the situation.
