GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Guiding Light is seeking donations from the community to help those experiencing homelessness get through the coming winter season.

The nonprofit organization requests donations in the form of winter clothing, blankets and essential hygiene products. A list of accepted items can be viewed here.

Guiding Light asks that all donations be unused. They say items will be distributed to services such as Mel Trotter Ministries and Dégagé Ministries.

“New safety protocols in place due to COVID-19 could leave as many as 150 men and women without a place to shelter this winter,” says Executive Director Stuart Ray. “Guiding Light is working together with Dégagé Ministries, Mel Trotter Ministries and Grand Rapids…to ensure those experiencing homelessness can be warm and dry.”

Monetary donations are also accepted via the following links:

Donations will be accepted by pickup only. To schedule a pickup, call 616-451-0236.
