Grand Rapids home shot overnight, police searching for casings

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police are busy searching for shell casings after reports of shots fired on the south east side of Grand Rapids.

Officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department first responded to the incident near Temple St. SE and Butler Ave. SE around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

They told FOX 17 crews that an investigation is ongoing but they believe someone fired a gun, striking a nearby home. Three unidentified suspects then drove away from the scene in a black car.

Investigators found multiple shell casings but they were still searching for more when they last spoke to us around 4:20 a.m.

No one was home at the time that the house was hit.
