GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids city commissioners voted Tuesday morning to delay the date to accept recreational marijuana applications by six months.
Commissioners had previously set April 20 to start accepting recreational applications but voted 5-2 to postpone that to Oct. 20.
The city will not accept more applications during the delay. Possible approval for 13 applications under review will be postponed and 24 that have already been approved won’t be impacted.
Grand Rapids’ first medial marijuana facility opened earlier this month at 1213 Phillips Ave.
