Officials in West Michigan are trying to make it easier for anyone to plan city events.
The Office of Special Events in Grand Rapids held an Event Management Training class on Thursday, February 27.
Organizers say the whole idea is to provide the resources and tools that people need to plan a successful event.
So far they've had more than 152 people attend the training and go on to hold an event of their own.
The next class is set for sometime in early spring and it's totally free.
