GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Investigators are looking into what sparked a house fire late Thursday night.
Firefighters say iit happened just after 10 p.m. at a home near the intersection of Spencer Street and Houseman Avenue on Grand Rapids' northeast side.
When firefighters arrived they found flames coming from nearly all of the windows and doors, forcing crews to fight the fire from the outside.
"The stairs from the first to second floor were burned through and there's some holes that burned through the floor, so it's a pretty dangerous in there," said Deputy Fire Chief Ron Tennant with Grand Rapids Fire Department.
We're told a downed power line made it difficult for crews to put out the fire.
As for a cause, that remains under investigation this morning.
