GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — This weekend your family has the chance to give a homeless pet a forever home at BISSELL Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters Holiday Hope event.

The foundation is offering pet adoptions in more than 25 states for just $25 on both Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14 at select Michigan shelters.

All adoptable pets will be microchipped and spayed and neutered.

Many shelters require a preapproval process, which may include an in-person visit. Adopters are encouraged to get preapproved to ensure they can adopt on the day of the event.

A total of 48 shelters in Michigan are taking part. You can find a shelter near you here.

The event has found homes for nearly 27,000 pets since the program’s inception in 2016.
