GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Troopers were called to a two car crash on US-131 just north of Burton St. around 10:40 p.m. Friday night.
A southbound 2018 Chevrolet sedan was speeding and weaving between traffic when it hit a 2017 Buick, according to Michigan State Police.
The Chevy then lost control and drove off the freeway.
After hitting a telephone pole, the 20-year-old female driver was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
Her passenger was taken to Butterworth Hospital by a family member and is expected to be ok.
The 25-year-old female driver of the Buick had no reported injuries.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, although the investigation is still ongoing.
