GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle that left two people dead.

Police say the crash happened around 11:00 Saturday night at East Fulton Street and College Avenue Southeast.

Police say a car being driven by a 25-year-old woman was making a turn when a motorcycle driven by a 47-year-old man hit the side of the car.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Raymond Crump. The motorcycle's passenger, a 44-year-old woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. She has been identified as Crump's wife Julie Crump.

The driver of the car was not injured but the passenger inside the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police believe motorcycle speed was a factor in the crash. The driver of the car was not under the influence at the time of the crash but it's unclear if the motorcyclist was under the influence.
