HASTINGS, Mich. — No one was injured in a plane crash at the Hastings Airport today, according to the Michigan State Police (MSP).

The crash happened around 6 p.m., as troopers responded to a report of a plan that ran off the runway and flipped over.

The small private plane, which was being flown by a 61-year-old student pilot with his 69-year-old instructor onboard, had engine trouble about a mile after takeoff.

When trying to land, the plane went off the runway and flipped over.

No injuries were sustained in the incident.

The investigation for the plane crash has been turned over to the Flight Standards District Office (FAA) in Grand Rapids.
