CHARLOTTE, Mich. — Barry-Eaton District Health Department is offering free flu shots at both the Charlotte and Hastings office locations.

Widespread flu vaccination can reduce the spread of flu during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as reduce the chance of people becoming infected with both viruses at the same time, the department said.

Clinics at the Charlotte office will be Tuesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. at 1033 Health Care Drive for everyone 19 and older.

These clinics will run Nov. 24 to Dec. 15.

The Hastings office’s clinics will be held Wednesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. at 330 W. Woodlawn Ave., also for everyone 19 and older.

These will run Nov. 25 to Dec. 16.

The health department asks those interested in getting a flu shot to make an appointment to help limit the number of people entering the building at the same time.

Those with insurance are also asked to go to a pharmacy or health care provider for a flu shot to help save supplies for community members without insurance.
