KENTWOOD, Mich. — Authorities in Kentwood are investigating what started a house fire in Kentwood that left two teens dead.
It started around 3 a.m. Monday on 48th Street SE between Division and Eastern Avenue.
The family in the house called fire officials about the fire as they were trying to get out.
Six people were able to safely escape the fire. The Kentwood Fire Department says a 12-year-old girl and a 19-year-old girl were pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses captured cell phone video of the early morning fire.
