1 injured in 2-car Jefferson Township crash

JEFFERSON TWP., Mich. — A 2-car crash in Cass County's Jefferson Township sent one man to the hospital this afternoon.

The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on M-62 Highway and Brownsville St.

A small bus being driven by a 65-year-old man from South Bend, Ind., failed to yield the right of way to another car, driven by a 64-year-old Dowagiac man.

The small bus was attempting to cross M 62 Hwy on Hospital St./Brownsville St. and pulled in front of the car, which was heading north bound on M 62 Hwy.

The 64-year-old man was driven to the hospital for injuries from the crash. The driver of the small bus was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
