KENT COUNTY, Mich. — Jameson Balkema, 49, has been arrested for allegedly breaking into The Electric Cheetah earlier this week.

Balkema is accused of breaking into the establishment on Oct. 6, according to Kent County Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young. She says deputies arrived at the scene after residents reported hearing shattered glass and witnessed a car fleeing the area at high speed.

The cash box was later found stolen, police say.

LaJoye-Young says investigators reviewed surveillance footage depicting the break-in, which led to Balkema’s arrest.

The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office issued breaking and entering charges, as well as charges for receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle.

Those with information connected to the incident is encouraged to call police at 616-632-6128 or Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
