WALLED LAKE, Mich. — Sarah Dodds from Walled Lake Consolidated School District is being honored for her Excellence in Education.
She will receive a $1,500 check from the Michigan Lottery and her class at Walled Lake Consolidated Schools receives a $500 grant.
Her nominee emphasized how welcoming Dodds is to both her students and their families.
“As an educator we don’t only get to see the children, but we get to work very closely with the parents and we do become a kind of family,” Dodds said. “Building connections is 100 percent the most important thing to do even on the small levels.”
