Monday is last day to register to vote online in Michigan

MICHIGAN — Monday is the last day residents can register to vote online in Michigan.

To register, go to and have your driver’s license or state ID ready.

You can also register by mail through the same date as long as forms are postmarked by Oct. 19.

If you miss the deadline, you can still vote – but you’ll have to register in-person at the city clerk’s office before 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Those voting absentee must request their ballots by 5 p.m. on Oct. 30 and have it postmarked by Nov. 2.

Thursday, Sept. 24: Early voting begins, absentee ballots begin being mailed
Monday, Oct. 19: Online, postmarked-by voter registration deadline
Tuesday, Oct. 20 through 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3: In-person registration allowed with local clerk
Friday, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m.: Deadline to request absentee ballot by mail
Monday, Nov. 2: Absentee/mail-in postmarked-by deadline
