GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The eighth-annual Paws, Claws & Corks is being hosted virtually tonight due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The event by the Humane Society of West Michigan, one of FOX 17's community partners, started at 7 p.m. and is taking place entirely online.
"Although we would love to celebrate with you in person, we have made this difficult decision in order to keep our guests and staff safe, continue to care for the animals in our community and celebrate the incredible businesses and individuals who make that possible," the Humane Society says on its event page. "Please plan to join us, virtually, for this extremely important event."
Tonight's online auction features more than 200 packages, including several from West Michigan restaurants.
