HOLLAND, Mich. — Hudsonville Ice Cream would like to treat 'healthcare heroes' with some of their favorite flavors.

The Holland-based ice cream company is accepting nominations for Random Acts of Ice Cream. The program was on pause, but is restarting in order to give healthcare workers a little sweet relief.

The company tells FOX 17 they want to thank first responders, nurses, doctors, and other healthcare workers for their efforts in fighting COVID-19. Each recipient will be given 8 pints of their traditional flavors. On top of the nominations, Hudsonville Ice Cream is working with area hospitals to deliver to hospital staff members, saying they expect to send 100,000 pints in the next 30 days.

If you know a healthcare worker who deserves to be treated, nominate them by telling Hudsonville Ice Cream their story here. The family-owned business will be working with nominators to send the creamy care package directly to the homes of front-line workers. The program lasts through the summer and will be sending multiple packages each week.
