Michigan reports 465 new coronavirus cases

LANSING, Mich. — The number of positive cases of the coronavirus in Michigan has increased to 93,185.

The number of cases increased 465 from yesterday, when there were 92,720 statewide cases, according to the Department of Health and Human Services this afternoon. Yesterday, the state reported 565 new cases.

The state says there have been 6,325 coronavirus deaths in Michigan.

The number of deaths has increased one from yesterday, when there were 6,324 statewide deaths. Yesterday, the state reported six new deaths.

Statewide, 67,778 people have recovered from the virus as of Aug. 14. A person is considered "recovered" by the state if they are "30 days out from their onset of illness."

In the U.S., there are 5,416,639 cases, and there have been 170,194 deaths — while 1,833,067 people have recovered, according to the global COVID-19 Dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.
